The KAPPA Advanced PLI course has been designed to assist experienced interpretation engineers in dealing with the advanced functionality of Emeraude, and the more complex aspects of production log analysis.

It is strongly recommended that the attendee has previously attended the Foundation Production Logging course or its equivalent, and has at least six months of ‘real world’ interpretation experience of production log data.

Numerous examples are worked ‘hands on’ to illustrate the practical and critical path of any production log analysis using the basic and advanced functionality. Participants are encouraged to bring their own data examples to be worked in class.

Use of selective inflow performance with worked examples. Review of operating tips, workarounds, troubleshooting approaches and typical reporting layouts. Temperature log interpretation example.

Working with images and data from tools such as the Schlumberger GHOST, DEFT, FSI and the Sondex MAPS suite. An in-depth review of the Emeraude regression and calculation schemes, which will assist the user in fine-tuning interpretations and troubleshooting.

There is a strong emphasis on real examples with three days taken up with practical work on the following: Multiphase, vertical and deviated producers, with conventional and multi-probe measurements. Complex completion configurations and multi survey PLTs integrating interpretation with logging objectives and secondary information. Horizontal PLTs with conventional spinners and multi-probe measurements and integration of stations. Use of the Pulsed Neutron Log and temperature analysis modules with a presentation of the theory and worked example.
