KAPPA acquired Grooviz SAS in Februrary 2011.

KAPPA-VIZ, the successor to the Grooviz RealityLounge, is under active development with the first commercial release scheduled for the summer of 2012. KAPPA-VIZ is a 3D collaborative environment allowing engineers to share the visualization of massive objects over narrow bandwidths.

The two main areas of application for KAPPA-VIZ remain the petroleum exploration & production and the aerospace industries.

In the sample screens to the right you can see three reservoir simulations produced by different software products along with well trajectories, a production log and a seismic block. These can be dragged and dropped, sliced and rotated in the same collaborative environment even from locations where the data is not actually present or served by a narrow bandwidth.
