KAPPA headquarters transferred

Ole Fjaere (1951-2024)

It is with great sadness that we inform you that we have lost our dearest friend and colleague Ole (Severin) Fjaere, who passed away on 22^nd February 2024 after a long fight with cancer. After ten years with Flopetrol-Johnston (now SLB Testing), Ole had joined KAPPA in the very early days of the company where he delivered numerous training and consulting services in many countries. Ole had reduced his activity in the past years due to his health condition, but he had kept on working on two KAPPA forums, to the benefit of many. Ole will be deeply missed by us all, both personally and professionally.

Citrine v1.20

Major update of Citrine v1.20 now available
It includes new features such as a flexible load from databases, controlled nonlinear regression on model parameters and matching a given model simultaneously on hundreds of wells in a single step. Numerous interface improvements include improved plots, prints, legends, display speed and memory management. Minor v1.20.02 update on 10th November 2015.

DDA Book v4.30

The new Dynamic Data Analysis (DDA) book is now available. DDA v4.30 is synchronized with Ecrin v4.30, Emeraude v2.60 and KAPPA Server v5.0. The main addition is a specific chapter on unconventional resources. Formation Tests are now treated in a separate chapter in provision of the release of Azurite, our new software dedicated to these operations. We have also created a specific chapter on Analytical models, which is now separated from the general methodology common to all types of models.

KAPPA Server v5.0 is released. KAPPA Server is the Generation 5 replacement for Diamant Master. This version is a complete redesign of Diamant Master and its client part – Diamant- provided in v5 as a stand-alone program called KAPPA Client. KAPPA Viz v5.0

KAPPA Viz v5.0 is released. This collaborative 3D environment offers a virtual meeting place for sharing 3D objects over an intranet or very narrow internet bandwidths. KAPPA Viz can handle 3D objects of any size and format generated by KAPPA or any third party application. Models and logs from Ecrin are imported by a single drag and drop. Third party objects such as seismic blocks, geomodels, simulations and logs are handled by a series a plug-ins. Please refer to the White Pages on the KAPPA Viz download page for details.
