About the Course

New to the KAPPA portfolio, Carbone is an interactive fluid modeling package designed to build, tune and run experiments on EoS or Black Oil fluid models.

The most common use of Carbone is to build a PVT model utilized in KAPPA-Workstation or any other Black Oil or compositional modeling platform. Carbone is also applicable for in-depth fluid studies, including multi-sample EoS model building, wax, and asphaltene studies.

Carbone is powered by the technical kernel from IFPEN as part of the ongoing technical partnership.

Carbone short courses

These sessions will discuss various fluid modelling options in Carbone and their application to Reservoir, Production and Flow Assurance workflows.

Pre-Requisites to attend the course

  • Although beneficial, no prior knowledge of PVT fundamentals or KAPPA software is required. The software for individual, personal, non-commercial use, is provided before the course.
  • Please note that training is done using ZOOM.
  • ALL training is done with the latest version of Carbone.
  • We advise two screens are used so you can see trainer's screen and work on your own screen.
  • In some sessions we may operate an 'observer’s gallery' which allows participants who were not able to secure hands-on place to watch and learn.
