Dual Filter

Objectives

The objective is to apply additional decimation to a fine pressure filter outside shut-in periods. As a result, the denoising of the original high frequency data is unique but the decimation takes two distinct forms.

The task allows creating a pressure channel optimized for analysis in Saphir. Fine filter data are used inside shut-in periods to capture all transients, coarse filter data are used outside shut-in periods that allows to considerably reduce the number of points not needed for analysis.

This task may be used in lieu of the ‘Interval based splicing’ task. The benefit is that only one input is needed.

Input

  • Data type – type of the data to filter, P or BHP; the selection allows to reduce the number of suggested channels for the task parameters below.

  • Fine filter – filtered data with fine settings.

  • Shutin – the shut-in dataset that is used to decimate data outside shut-in periods.

  • Δt – maximum time between points if the 'Δy' value for them is less than the Δy input.

  • Δy - maximum 'Δy' value between consecutive points.

Output

  • Dual filter – combined gauge with fine filter assigned to shut-in intervals and decimated data outside shut-in intervals.
